On Wednesday the NBA and Nike revealed the Washington Wizards’ new “City Edition” uniforms. On the uniforms the city’s name “The District of Columbia” is embroidered on the chess plate. The sleek new alternates were met with raves reviews from fans and observers, including one particular D.C. sports star. Nationals’ outfielder Bryce Harper took notice of the new uniforms and now he wants his club to incorporate a city-like jersey.
Why don’t the @Nationals have a jersey that says The District across it like the @WashWizards jerseys? That new “city” one is fire!🔥 #DCfamily

The Nationals have already introduced a boring new alternate for the upcoming 2018 season. So chances of a second alternate being put in their line this late is more than likely out of question. But maybe in 2019?
Only issue with that is, Harper will be a free agent at the end of the 2018 season and Washington could lose the superstar to another team in free agency. Fortunately, the Nats have until the end of the season to work out a new long-term deal. Maybe, just maybe, a new “District” uniform could be thrown in the negotiations as a selling piece?
