John Wall’s sneaker free agency appears headed to an end. After two-plus seasons without a shoe deal, all signs point to the Washington Wizards point guard landing a new shoe deal. According to a report by Hoop District, Wall will re-sign with the company he left back in 2015, adidas.

Wall left the brand after rescinding an offer that was reportedly worth $7.5 million per season. Wall, who had two signature shoes with adidas at the time, wanted a deal similar to that of James Harden, who signed a 13-year deal worth $200 million.
Shortly after leaving adidas, Wall fired his agent Dan Fegan before signing with Rich Paul, the longtime friend and agent of LeBron James. Because of Paul and James’ long-standing relationship with Nike, many speculated Wall would eventually jump to the Swoosh.
Additionally, Wall went back-and-forth through shoe brands, including Jordan. But, went strictly Nike through last season and the start of this season, wearing mostly of Kobe’s line. However, no deal has been reached. Nike appears to have its focus on their signature player’s Kyrie Irving, Paul George, and newly signed Giannis Antetokounmpo along with James and its Jordan brand’s superstar Russell Westbrook.

Coincidentally, Wall wore his first signature shoe with adidas the J Wall 1 Floral in Friday night’s game, as he and his Wizards played Harden and the Houston Rockets. If a deal is indeed reached, it’s a great move for arguably the NBA’s best player without a signature shoe deal.
