Bradley Beal Eliminated in First Round of Three-Point Contest

Bradley Beal had a short night in the 2018 NBA Three-Point Contest in Los Angeles. The Washington Wizards’ All-Star scored 15 points in the first round. Unfortunately, that was not enough to advance him past the first round.

Beal struggled out the gate, missing all five of his shots on the first rack. His second round started out better making the first ball. However, he missed on the next four. Making 1 of his first 10 shots put him behind the ball. Not even making 4-of-5 on his money rack could put him back on par.

Beal finished fifth in the first round standings. Devin Booker, Klay Thompson, and Tobias Harris advanced to the championship round. Thompson and Booker each scored 19 in the first round while Harris advanced with 18.

Booker went on to win the contest, scoring a record 28 points.

As for Beal, he said he might have over prepared.

Saturday was Beal’s second appearance in the three-point contest. In 2014, he finished as a runner-up to Marco Belinelli in New Orleans.
