Alex Ovechkin’s presence on a power play makes any team fighting to kill a penalty nervous. After rocketing his first goal of the series on a power play from his office in the first period, the Columbus Blue Jackets mistakenly gave Ovechkin another chance to make them pay in the second period. And, he did so in normal fashion.
Brandon Dubinsky was called for high-sticking giving the Capitals another power play. They took just eight seconds to capitalize, as Nicklas Backstrom made a nifty pass across the ice from circle to circle before Ovechkin buried the puck in the net with a one-timer to give Washington a 3-1 lead.

Ovechkin’s second goal of the game comes on the heels of him going his last seven postseason games with just one goal. The goal also gave him the Capitals’ franchise record for most multi-goal postseason games with six.
