The swing by Matt Adams looked effortless. The split second the bat connected with Chad Kuhl’s slider, it was apparent the ball was going to travel a far distance.

Adams crushed a home run that traveled to second deck in right field of Nationals Park. The bomb extended the Nationals lead over the Pittsburgh Pirates to 2-0.
The home runs was Adams’ fourth of the season. With the offense spiraling, first-year manager Dave Martinez shook up the Nationals lineup, placing Bryce Harper in the lead-off spot and sliding Adams to cleanup. Early returns seem to be what the doctor ordered.
