As a rookie last season, Samaje Perine led the Washington Redskins with 603 rushing yards. Entering his season year as a pro, he is expected to have an integral role in the Redskins backfield. Despite that, Samaje may not be the most famous member of his family at the current time. That title may belong to his four-year old cousin, Austin Perine.
Austin has captured the hearts of many as his kind gestures have went viral around social media. Inspired by watching “Animal Planet” Austin has used a portion of his allowance to go around and feed the homeless in Alabama and Washington, D.C.

While watching the show, Austin asked his father, Terance Perine, why a mother panda had left her cubs alone and what would happen to them now she is gone.
“I said, ‘Well, I guess it’s going to be homeless for a while,’ and he said, ‘Are people homeless?’ and I said, ‘Yeah, some of them.’” his dad said in an interview with WPMI.
Video of Austin’s efforts of feeding the homeless swept through Facebook and Twitter and struck the attention of the nation. He has done multiple interviews, including with Washington D.C.’s ABC-affiliate WJLA.
He also was honored with a key to the city of Mobile, Ala. Recently, his father announced via Facebook their efforts to raise money to feed people in other areas.
As he feeds the homeless of today, Austin inspires to one day accomplish another marvelous feat that he told WPMI.
“I want to be a president of the United States of America.”
