Juan Soto has blazed through the Washington Nationals organization. Three years ago, he was just 16 years of age working out of the Nationals’ prospect academy in the Dominican Republic. On Monday, he made his first start in the major leagues with Washington. On the first pitch he saw, with two men on base, Soto delivered a three-run home run.

It was an amazing moment, one that was surreal of course for the promising prospect as well as the Nationals organization. His home run sent a great feeling that the future of the Nats are in good hands. It also gave an euphoric feeling for the kids back at the Nats’ Dominican academy.

Chelsea Janes of the Washington Post shared the reaction of the young prospects seeing Soto deliver while living his and their dream.

It remains to be seen how long this stint will be for Soto, but there is no question his future seems bright and long with the Nationals. That gives the next crop of prospects a goal and role model to look to as their aspire to one day join the ranks of the major leagues.
