The Washington Capitals once again score the first goal of a postseason game. Alex Ovechkin buried the loose puck off a rebound to give the Capitals the 1-0 lead in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final.
The Capitals rushed the net. Their aggressiveness created a mad scramble in front of Vegas Golden Knights’ goalie Marc-Andre Fleury. Fleury was able to stop an Evgeny Kuznetsov shot, but Ovechkin got through the crowd and diving bodies to tap the rebound in.
The goal is Ovechkin’s 14th of the postseason and second of the Stanley Cup Final, tying a franchise-record for most goals in a single postseason.

Ovechkin’s goal comes after a first-period goal by Chandler Stephenson was waved off after Devante Smith-Pelly was called for goalie interference. The game remained scoreless until Ovechkin was able to score 1:10 into the second period.
