Virginia Tech’s defense had already smothered Florida State’s offense. With just over five minutes left Hokies’ junior wide receiver Eric Kumah delivered the dagger for a Virginia Tech dagger.

Quarterback Josh Jackson rolled out on a 3rd-and-7 from midfield and found Kumah on a comeback route. Kumah then broke three tackles and got two huge blocks, including a big one from teammate Hezekiah Grimsley, to spring open for a 49-yard touchdown.

Kumah’s score put the seal on the Florida State’s coffin, extending the Hokies lead to 24-3.

Virginia Tech has a head start to their 2018 campaign with a huge ACC win. Meanwhile, new Florida State head coach Willie Taggart is left with an array of questions to start his tenure in Tallahassee.
