Wednesday could be Bryce Harper’s final game at Nationals Park with a Washington Nationals uniform on. The 25-year old, who turns 26 in October, is set to be a free agent this winter. And, after seven seasons he could call another Major League Baseball team. He understands the magnitude of the situation and arrived to Nats Park unusually early for their last home game of the season. He even dressed in his full uniform 3.5 hours before the first pitch according to Jamal Collier of MLB.com.

Harper told Dan Kolko of MASN Sports that he got to the park early with full intentions of dressing way early. Harper added “I enjoy putting the W on my chest every single day.”
Harper could receive a record-setting contract if he goes to free agency. As arguably the top free agent available this winter, there will be suitors lined up to sign him that include teams that usually do heavy spending to acquire players, including the New York Yankees, Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago Cubs, and Los Angles Dodgers.
In an interview with the Washington Post, Harper stated he would “love” to re-sign with the Nationals, if the Nationals have him in their plans. Those plans may ultimately come down to Harper and his agent, Scott Boras, asking price.
For now, it appears Harper wants to put what may happen in the future and concentrate and enjoy what could be his final moments in a home uniform at Nationals Park.
“It’s definitely crazy walking in today knowing this could be my last game at Nats Park in a white jersey,” Harper added per Mark Zuckerman of MASN Sports.
