The very first snap for the Washington Redskins against the New Orleans Saints nearly was Adrian Peterson’s first and last snap of the game as he took a shot from Saints defensive back P.J. Williams that hyperextended his left knee.
The hit and reaction were both nasty as Redskins quarterback Alex Smith telegraphed the check down pass to Peterson.

Peterson limped off the field immediately after the scary hit. He was also evaluated for a hyperextended knee before miracously returning to the game.

He was limited to four carries in the first half, however, it’s unclear if it was due to any injury or the fact the Redskins have been playing catch-up falling down as much as 26-6.
