Markieff Morris Suffers Concussion after Receiving Elbow to Face

Markieff Morris has had a rough Sunday in Los Angeles. First the Washington Wizards forward was dealing with flu-like symptoms, leading to him being a game-time decision. He ultimately was good enough to play and start Sunday’s contest against the Clippers, however, his outing was cut short after receiving an inadvertent elbow from Danilo Gallinari in the second quarter.

Morris immediately grabbed his face around his cheek bone area. After he fell down to the floor play was stopped.

He was attended to by the medical staff for several moments before he was assisted off the floor into the locker room. After an evaluation, he was ruled out for the remainder of the game being placed in the concussion protocol.

Morris finished the game with zero points, missing all four of his shots from the field — three from three — and one rebound in 14 minutes.

Scoreless or not the Wizards needed Morris, as the team was ultimately blown out by the Clippers by the score of 136-104.
