Just as the Washington Wizards announced their new jersey patch partnership with GEICO, the team unveiled their all-black 2018-19 City Edition uniforms.

Essentially the uniforms have the same layout as last season’s white City uniforms, however, the side panel of the monument, names, numbers, and and the GEICO jersey patch will be white with red trimming.

The Wizards elected to go black “celebrate the one-of-a kind scene that is Washington D.C.’s National Mall at night.”

Mimicking the night view of the the National Mall gives the uniforms a city-specific touch.

The jerseys will be available for purchase starting Nov. 9 and the team will debut the uniforms on the court on Nov. 16 against the Brooklyn Nets at home at the Capital One Arena.

Washington will wear the alternate uniforms 19 times this season — 10 home games and nine road games. The will wear the black uniforms in all three meetings against the Boston Celtics this season.

According to the Wizards jersey schedule, this City uniforms won’t be their latest edition to their selection as they’ll play in the “Earned” jerseys nine times starting Dec. 29 against the Charlotte Hornets. Those uniforms are awarded to teams who made the postseason the prior season and will be revealed at a later date.
