The Washington Redskins have been riddled with injuries all season and are limping into their Week 12 showdown with the Dallas Cowboys. However, they’ll get two key Week 1 starters back from injury, as left tackle Trent Williams and cornerback Quinton Dunbar are both active for Thursday’s game at Jerry’s World.

Williams missed the previous three games after he suffered a dislocated thumb that required surgery in a Week 8 win over the New York Giants. Dunbar will return from a shin injury that caused him to miss four of the last five games.

Williams is expected to wear a cast to protect his surgically repaired thumb. His return is perfect timing as swing tackle Geron Christian went on injured reserve with a torn MCL on Nov. 13.

The Redskins head into Dallas with a long list of injuries that include their Week 1 quarterback, Alex Smith, both Week 1 starting guards, Shawn Lauvao (torn ACL) and Brandon Scherff (shoulder), and No. 1 wide receiver Paul Richardson (shoulder) out for the season. Smith was the latest injury as he suffered a broken tibia and fibula in last week’s lost to Houston.

While Williams and Dunbar return to the field from lengthy injuries, running back Chris Thompson and wide receiver Jamison Crowder won’t be as fortunate.

Thompson has battled with a set of rib injuries that was initially hurt in a Week 5 loss to New Orleans. Thursday will be his sixth missed game in the last seven contests. Crowder has been hampered by an ankle injury, and although he returned to practice two weeks ago, he will miss his seventh straight game.

Among the Dallas Cowboys inactive list is tight end Geoff Swaim. He is dealing with a wrist injury and will be replaced in the starting lineup by rookie Dalton Schutlz, per David Helman.

The Redskins will look to bounce back after last week’s loss to Houston, while the Cowboys are looking to swing their season in the right direction with a win they’ll tie for first place in the NFC East.
