Video of Washington Redskins safety Montae Nicholson assaulting a man outside of an establishment in Loudoun County, Virginia was obtained and released by TMZ Sports.
In the video, Nicholson is seen wearing a red hoodie pushing through a group of people trying to restrain him from a man in a jean jacket. Nicholson gets through throwing multiple punches before landing a brutal shot, knocking the man unconscious.
Nicholson was arrested and charged with assault and battery and public drunkenness following the incident.
According to the police report (h/t Craig Hoffman of 106.7 the Fan), “an investigation determined the male suspect assaulted the male victim, and the female suspect struck the female victim with a bottle and also assaulted the male victim.”
A female acquaintance of Nicholson was also charged stemming from the incident. Both the man and woman were treated at a local hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Nicholson started seven games for the Redskins this season before the team acquired Ha Ha Clinton-Dix in a trade in October. Additionally, Nicholson underwent a hip procedure on Nov. 1. He did not miss a game following the procedure, however, he was relegated to special teams.
