Nick Foles Brutally Missed out on $1M Bonus in Win over Redskins

Nick Foles once again became the savior of the Philadelphia Eagles. Following their shutout 24-0 win over the Washington Redskins, the defending Super Bowl champions clinched a playoff berth.

Foles tied an NFL record with 25 consecutive completions to finish the game 28-of-33 for 221 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. However, his day came to an end early in the fourth quarter as he suffered a chest injury after being sacked by Redskins edge rusher Ryan Kerrigan.

The hit was brutal for Foles in more ways than one. Not being able to finish the game cost him a $1 million bonus.

Foles was eligible for the million-dollar bonus had he played in 33 percent of snaps and the Eagles made the playoffs. The playoffs were in tow thanks to the Minnesota Vikings losing to the Chicago Bears, but he missed the snap percentage by one percent, as described by Adam Schefter of ESPN.

In layman’s terms, Foles was shy by just four snaps, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

That’s a rough way to come so close to receiving the seven-figure bonus. He sorta could blame Kerrigan, right?

Nonetheless, all eyes turn to his well-being as the Eagles will meet the same Bears who eliminated the Vikings next week in the NFC Wild Card Round.
