Matt Ioannidis will be sticking around with the Washington Redskins for longer, as the defensive lineman has signed a three-year extension according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network. The deal has a base of a reported $21.75 million with an additional $3 million in incentives.
The deal includes $14 million guaranteed, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
A fifth-round pick in 2016, Ioannidis worked his way on the roster and appeared in eight games as rookie and developed into a starter alongside Jonathan Allen and Daron Payne.
Last season, Iaonnidis collected 7.5 sacks playing across the Redskins defensive line. Locking up Iaonnidis gives the Redskins comfort of having their defensive line as a strength moving forward.
