Landon Collins Goes ‘Suge Knight’ to Recruit Jalen Ramsey to Redskins amid Jaguars Controversy

Jalen Ramsey and the Jacksonville Jaguars appear to be in the midst of public squabble over him being absent from voluntary workouts. The situation has caught the eye of the NFL, including newly acquired Redskins safety Landon Collins, who has already started the process of recruiting via Twitter mimicking Suge Knight.

Collins’ recruitment is in response to Jaguars executive vice president Tom Coughlin referencing Ramsey and teammate Telvin Smith as “lazy, selfish and insensitive” for not being at the voluntary workouts via Michael DiRocco of ESPN.

Coughlin’s comments drew responses from both Ramsey and his agent David Mulugheta.

Notice how Collins referenced the jersey numbers of Josh Norman, Quinton Dunbar, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, and himself — the projected four starters in the Redskins’ secondary.

Adding Ramsey would make that quintet highly revered. He can play everywhere across the secondary including safety, the slot, and cornerback.

But before fans of the burgundy and gold get over-hyped, keep in mind, Ramsey is under contract with the Jaguars. He is set to make $3.6 million this season carrying a $7.4 million cap hit as he enters his fourth year of his rookie contract. The Jaguars have already exercised the fifth-year for 2020 that will pay him $13.7 million, according to Spotrac.

However, Ramsey reportedly wants to tear up his rookie deal in hopes of becoming the highest-paid cornerback in the NFL — an honor coincidentally held by the Redskins’ Josh Norman.

At the present time Ramsey coming to the Redskins is a long shot. However, never say never.
