Nationals’ Yan Gomes Exits Game after Being Hit by Pitch

The injuries continue to pile up for the struggling Washington Nationals. Catcher Yan Gomes exited Monday’s game against the Milwaukee Brewers after taking a fast ball off his left forearm.

Kurt Suzuki replaced Gomes after he left the game.

Unfortunately that was not were the injuries stopped, as outfielder Andrew Stevenson left the game with an apparent oblique injury.

Rendon, Turner, Zimmerman, Soto, Adams all on the IL. Michael A. Taylor banged up. And then in the first four innings tonight, Yan Gomes leaves after getting hit by a pitch, and now Andrew Stevenson leaves with what looks like an oblique.

Currently Anthony Rendon, Trea Turner, Matt Adams, Ryan Zimmerman, and Juan Soto are all on the injured list. That does not include Michael A. Taylor nursing a wrist injury. Both Rendon (elbow) and Turner (finger) were hit by pitches.
