Washington Redskins linebacker Reuben Foster’s season appears to be over, as it is believed he suffered a torn ACL according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network:
The Redskins fear Foster suffered “additional damage” to the left knee.
JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington says that additional damage could be artery damage.
The news is certainly brutal for Foster and the Redskins.
Foster was injured during a non-contact drill at OTA’s Monday, when he stepped on the foot of teammate Tyler Catalina, according to head coach Jay Gruden. Foster was carted off the field with an air cast over his injured knee.
Foster was to have a reset in his career after off-the-field issues hampered his first two seasons with the San Francisco 49ers that ultimately led to his release by the team in November. Now his and the Redskins’ focus shifts to the pending surgery, rehab and recovery.
