The Washington Redskins have signed linebacker Jon Bostic and placed Reuben Foster on season-ending injured reserve. The team made the announcement of both transactions Wednesday.

Foster suffered a torn ACL, and reportedly additional damage when he stepped on the foot of teammate Tyler Catalina during a non-contact drill at OTA practice Monday. He had to be carted off the field. It was just Foster’s third snap of the off-season program.

Washington adds Bostic to help fill the void of losing Foster, who was expected to start at one of the Redskins’ inside linebacker positions.

Bostic started 14 games for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2018. He finished the season with 73 tackles, five tackles for losses, including 2.5 sacks and three passes defended. His play last season was graded at 63rd among linebackers per Pro Football Focus.

He was a second-round pick of the Chicago Bears in 2013 out of Florida. He spent two seasons there before being traded to the New England Patriots in 2015. He also started 14 games with the Colts in 2017.

Bostic will join Mason Foster, Shaun Dion Hamilton, Josh Harvey-Clemons, and rookie Cole Holcomb as notable players at inside linebacker ahead of next month’s mini-camp.
