Gerardo Parra has engulfed Washington Nationals Park with his choice of walk-up music. Since June 18, Parra has used the children-loving “Baby Shark” song as he walks to the plate to bat.
The Nationals fans in attendance join in at the first note, doing the “Baby Shark” in unison.
Monday was no different when Parra stepped up for a pinch-hit at-bat in the seventh. The crowd acted accordingly, throwing Atlanta Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman for a loop.
Freeman looked on in awe with his hand drawn over his mouth.
The priceless reaction says it all. Only Nationals fans and players understand the engulfing movement that Parra has created. He is a draw to himself, and any visiting player like Freddie Freeman can only watch on in amazement.
