Maryland was dealt a serious blow, as sophomore wide receiver Jeshaun Jones will miss the entire 2019 season with a torn ACL.

Jones suffered the injury during Monday’s practice.

Jones was set to be one of the Maryland’s top offensive weapons for first-year head coach Mike Locksley. Jones was the Terrapins’ returning leading receiver.

He dazzled on the scene in his first game as a freshman in the 2018 opener against Texas, scoring as he was responsible for three touchdowns — one passing, one rushing, one receiving — on his first three collegiate touches.

He went on to finish with five receiving touchdowns, two rushing, and a passing in a breakout freshman campaign.

With Jones out for the season, Maryland will look to DJ Turner, Dontay Demus, Darryl Jones, and Sean Savoy at wide receiver in his absence for transfer quarterback Josh Jackson.
