WATCH: Dwayne Haskins Caps Impressive Drive with TD Toss to a Diving Steven Sims

Dwayne Haskins flashed how good he can be as a passer, leading the Redskins to a touchdown with four impressive passes. The drive culminated with Haskins rolling out to his right before finding a diving Steven Sims in the end zone for the score.

Haskins was 4-of-5 passing on the drive. He found Robert Davis across the middle off a playaction. Haskins sat Davis down to avoid contact from the surrounding Ravens with a low-placed throw.

Then Haskins shined with a solid read, seeing Donald Parham down the seam while avoiding the rush off the edge. Haskins went a bit high to get the ball over the traffic, but the 6-foot-8 tight end was able to snag the ball out the air for the 25-yard pickup.

Sometimes, all a receiver needs is his quarterback to give him a chance.

Haskins then found tight end JP Holtz over the middle for another huge chunk — 24 yards — to put the ball in the red zone at the 7-yard line. Again, Haskins recognizes the blitz from the nickel and hits the hot read perfectly.

That’s when Haskins and Sims did the rest, as Sims corralled the football before it could touch the turf for the touchdown.

Dwayne Haskins has had his fair share of misreads and rookie hiccups, but when he is precise, he is precise. With his development and understanding of blitz coverage, it’s safe to wonder how long will it be before the 15th overall pick gets the keys to the Redskins offense permanently.
