WATCH: Vernon Davis Hurdles Eagles Defender On Route to 48-yard TD

The Washington Redskins’ first offensive drive of the 2019 season ended with tight end Vernon Davis hurdling a Philadelphia Eagles defender on route to a 48-yard touchdown reception.

Redskins quarterback Case Keenum was a perfect 4-of-4 passing for 71 yards, culminating in the big scoring play by Davis.

Davis caught a short pass towards the right sidelines. Just as it appeared he was going to be pushed out of bounds, the veteran hurdled DMV native Ronald Darby before rolling the rest of the way to the end zone.

That’s not a bad start for a Redskins team that was marred with controversy heading into the season with Trent Williams’ holdout and Adrian Peterson being made inactive for Sunday’s game in Philadelphia. Hopefully, Vernon Davis display of athleticism rubs off and inspires the Redskins.
