Deshazor Everett will miss his fourth straight game Sunday with a sprained ankle, however, the safety and special teams captain signed a three-year extension with the Washington Redskins. The team announced the signing just before Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills.
The terms of the deal were not yet disclosed.
Everett was playing on the final year of his previous two-year deal this season that carried a $1.225 million cap hit.
Everett has been a mainstay on the Redskins special teams and as a backup safety. He was originally signed to Washington’s practice squad in 2015. He was eventually was promoted to 53-man roster and then converted from cornerback to safety in 2016.
He has been named the special teams captain in 2018 and 2019.
Everett has appeared in 63 games in five seasons with the Redskins. He has 91 tackles, two interceptions and a forced fumble for his career.
