Ohio State EDGE Chase Young announced Friday he is declaring for the 2020 NFL Draft.

Young is expected to be a top-2 draft pick in April’s draft. The Washington Redskins currently own the No. 2 pick overall. Many, if not all, mock drafts have Young slotted at No. 2 to the Redskins.

Young is from the DMV area. He played at St. Vincent Pallotti High School in Laurel, Maryland for two years before transferring to DeMatha in Hyattsville, Maryland. There he became a five-star recruit landing at Ohio State.

Being drafted by Washington will be a homecoming for the talented EDGE, who would get to play defensive end in defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio’s 4-3 base defense.

Young lining up opposite of last year’s first-round pick Montez Sweat and/or Ryan Kerrigan is sure to excite Redskins fans. It appears the possibility also is exciting to a pair of Redskins players. Both Derrius Guice and Young’s former college teammate Dwayne Haskins tweeted their excitement about Young coming to Washington.

Haskins tweeted “See you soon” with a winking eye emoji. Meanwhile, Guice tweeted in response to Young, “Searching for your new home in Ashburn (Va) now.”

Young’s declaring was a foregone conclusion despite him saying his “plan” was to return to school during Heisman week. Now is the question would will he go first or second overall.

Barring a shocking trade by the Cincinnati Bengals, who hold the No. 1 pick, or the Redskins, Haskins, Guice, and Redskins Nation will get their wish with Young dawning burgundy and gold.
