Bradley Beal Is the NBA’s Highest-Scoring All-Star Snub Ever

It’s official, Bradley Beal is the highest-scoring All-Star snub in NBA history.

Beal closed out the first half of the Washington Wizards’ schedule with back-to-back 30-point performances. His 29.1 points per game is the most ever by a player not named to the NBA All-Star game in the same season.

Additionally, Beal is on a 12-game streak scoring at least 26 points.

Beal is fifth in the NBA in scoring this season. He is the only player in the top-10 that will not be attending the NBA All-Star Game in Chicago Sunday.

Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker, who is 10th in the league in scoring, was added as an injury replacement for Portland Trailblazers guard Damian Lillard.

Beal surpassed World B. Free, who averaged 28.7 points heading into the All-Star break during the 1978-79 season with the San Diego Clippers. Free would finished the season with 28.8 points and was named to the All-NBA team.

Many have pointed to team records. With the late addition, Booker joins New Orleans Pelicans forward Brandon Ingram and Lillard as all-stars coming from a Western Conference team with a losing record.

Atlanta’s Trae Young is the only all-star from a Eastern Conference team with a losing record. Young was voted as a starter. The Hawks have the third-worst record in the league.

Beal previously called the All-Star snub “disrespectful.”

The snub has seemingly motivated Beal to push for the playoff this season. The Wizards have won five of their last seven games propelling them to a 20-33 record and three games from eighth in the East.
