Report: Quinton Dunbar Still Wants Trade after Redskins Decline Contract Talks

Quinton Dunbar remains determined to be traded or released from the Washington Redskins.

According to ESPN’s Josina Anderson, Dunbar is “resolute” on moving on from the Redskins after the team declined to discuss his contract.

Dunbar is in the final year of a four-year deal that will pay him a non-guaranteed $3.25 million in 2020.

Last week, JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington reported Dunbar was planning to skip OTA’s as he yearned for a new contract. Shortly afterwards, ESPN’s John Keim reported Dunbar had requested his trade or release from the team.

According to Keim’s report, Dunbar had been in talks of a new deal with the previous Redskins’ regime. However, he had not had conversation with newly hired head coach Ron Rivera and the team’s restructured front office.

Dunbar seemingly backed off his want to leave the Redskins after scheduling a conversation with Rivera.

Instead of a resolve, Dunbar has circled back to his original sentiments as the team declined his wishes towards getting a new deal.

Dunbar has blossomed into one of the better cornerbacks in the NFL, when he is on the field. The phrase is highlighted given the fact he has missed 14 games over the course of the last two seasons.
