You may or may not have seen the video of a man pulling a semi-trailer truck? That man is none other than Manassas, Virginia native Lucky Whitehead.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, gyms and training facilities have been closed while under stay-at-home orders. Athletes have been forced to discover unique ways of mimicking workouts. Videos has surfaced with football players training for the upcoming season by pushing pickup trucks. However, Whitehead has upped the ante.
He is listed at 5-foot-10, 177 pounds and yet worked his way to pulling a semi-trailer truck.
Whitehead starred at Osbourn High School (VA) before starring as a wide receiver at Florida Atlantic in college. His speed and vision earned him a spot on the Dallas Cowboys roster in 2015 as a undrafted free agent.
He played two seasons with the Cowboys, mostly on special teams. He averaged 25.6 yards per kick return. With his blazing speed the Cowboys tried to get the football in hands any kind of way, as he averaged 9.5 yards per rush as a wide receiver.
Unfortunately, Whitehead was waived by the Cowboys in 2017 after reports surfaced he was charged with misdemeanor petty larceny charges. He was accused of stealing $25 worth of goods from a Prince William County, Virginia Wawa store. However, charges were dropped and he was cleared of any wrongdoing after police determined it was a case of mistaken identity.
Whitehead was claimed by the New York Jets off of waivers and spent two seasons on and off with the Jets before he landed in the Canadian Football League last season.
Playing with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Whitehead had 52 receptions on 72 targets for 521 yards and two touchdowns in 15 games. Additionally, he had nine carries for 92 yards and one touchdown and 596 kick return yards and one touchdown.
