Quinton Dunbar Lawyer says he wasn’t at party when robbery occurred

Quinton Dunbar’s lawyer says the former Washington Redskins cornerback was not at a party when an alleged arm robbery occurred in Florida last week.

Appearing on 106.7 the Fan’s The Sports Junkies Tuesday, Dunbar’s attorney, Michael Grieco, was adamant of his client’s innocence.

“First of all, there’s no poker game and there was never a statement that he wasn’t there. He’s always consistently maintained that he was at this party or barbecue, or whatever it is.What we’ve also maintained is if there was some sort of robbery, he definitely was not there. He didn’t participate in any way, directly or indirectly, and the whole thing is nonsense.”

Police in Miramar, Florida issued warrants for both Dunbar and New York Giants cornerback DeAndre Baker for their alleged involvement in a armed robbery at a party last Wednesday.

The two players were accused of making off with thousands of dollars worth of expensive watches and cash. Both players ultimately turned themselves in. Baker pleaded not guilty and Dunbar plans to plea not guilty as well, according to ESPN.

According to the police report, both players were at a party playing cards and video games when an argument ensued before Baker produced a gun, pointing at at least attendee. Baker directed Dunbar and a third man wearing a mask to rob the attendees.

However, Dunbar’s lawyer says Dunbar left the gathering before the robbery took place. He also added he has written statements from the four victims that Dunbar was not involved, contradicting what they told police.

“And I can tell you even further that these four victims – and I’m finger-quoting over the phone – since they gave their statement to police, they have sworn written statements contradicting their own statements,” Grieco added. “They gave them to me and they gave them to the attorney for Mr. Baker as well.”
