Washington wide receiver Kelvin Harmon will miss the 2020 season after tearing his ACL while training according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
The 23-year old Harmon confirmed he indeed had surgery for the injury.
The injury is disappointing to say the least. As a rookie, Harmon was part of a rare scenario for Washington last season that featured fellow rookies, quarterback Dwayne Haskins and wide receivers Terry McLaurin and Steven Sims Jr.
Harmon had emerged late in the season as a possession receiver with 30 catches and 365 yards. He was set build on that entering the 2020 season.
His absence will turn the spotlight on this year’s fourth-round pick Antonio Gandy-Golden to potentially step up as the second outside option for Haskins. Cam Sims, Cody Latimer and Trey Quinn are the remaining prominent Washington wide receivers on the team’s training camp roster.
