Washington places TE Logan Thomas on Reserve/Covid list

Washington tight end Logan Thomas has been placed on the Reserve/Covid list. The Washington Football Team announced the move Wednesday afternoon.

This means Thomas either tested positive for COVID-19 or is suspected to have come into close contact with someone who has tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

His return depends on whether he tested positive and if he is showing symptoms or not.

If Thomas tested positive and is showing symptoms, he can return after 10 days have passes since his positive test and 72 hours after the last sign of symptoms. He must also have a negative test and receive approval from team doctors and league medical officials, according to Sam Fortier of the Washington Post.

If Thomas is asymptomatic, he can return after five days from his positive test. Also, he will need two negative PCR tests 24-hours apart within those five days.

Thomas signed a two-year deal with Washington with expectations of being the lead tight end in an unproven but crowded group. Practices aren’t expected to rev up for a couple of weeks, so there is time for Thomas to be cleared.

In the meantime, Washington has Jeremy Sprinkle, Hale Hentags, Richard Rodgers, Caleb Wilson, Marcus Baugh and undrafted rookie Thaddeus Moss at tight end.
