Washington Football Team tight end Logan Thomas has been activated off the reserve/COVID-19 list Sunday.
Thomas’ activation is the second bit of positive player news of the day for Washington, as the team activated linebacker Reuben Foster off the PUP list earlier.
Thomas was placed on the COVID-19 list upon arrival at the start of training camp. He has been the lone Washington Football Team player to be placed on the list thus far.
Players are placed on the list if they tested positive for the coronarivrus or been suspected to be in contact with someone who has tested positive.
Thomas signed a two-year deal with Washington in the offseason with expectations of competing to become the TE1 on the depth chart. Last season, he had 16 catches, 173 receiving yards and one touchdown while with the Detroit Lions.
Thomas is tremendously athletic. He started his NFL career as a quarterback out of Virginia Tech before being converted into tight end with the Buffalo Bills in 2017.
Three seasons in as an NFL tight end, Thomas’ speed, size and mobility could lead him to a more expanded role with Washington this season. He’ll join Jeremy Sprinkle, Hale Hentges, Richard Rodgers, Marcus Baugh and undrafted rookie Thaddeus Moss in competition at tight end.
