The players of the Washington Football Team got to wear their new helmets for the first time during Thursday’s practice. The new helmets feature individual players’ jersey numbers as the decal in place of the old Redskins logo.
Just as the caption says from Washington Football Team’s Twitter account, the helmets do look “so fresh and so clean.”
The other noticeable feature on the helmet is the stripes being gone from the crown.
Washington is the only NFL team to exclusively have numbers as the primary decal. The Los Angeles Chargers also will feature players’ jersey numbers but they also have their patented lightning bolts.
Washington will get the pads on Sunday and they’re names will be added to the back of their practice jerseys on Monday. Players have been had “Team” on the back of their jerseys since the start of the training camp.
