Victor Robles continues to add to the argument of being the best defensive center fielder in baseball. The Washington Nationals’ leaped and reached over against the wall to rob Atlanta Braves’ Austin Riley of a potential three-run homer.
Robles led all of Major League Baseball with 22 outs above average last season. His speed, range and leaping skill set was on full display, as he preserved the Nationals’ slim lead snagging the rocket that came off Riley’s bat.
Robles wasn’t finish contributing to the Nationals’ cause Tuesday in Atlanta. He hit a lead-off double in the eighth inning. Then he showed his wheels, beating a throw at home to extend the Nationals’ lead to 7-5 off a Trea Turner RBI-single.
Victor Robles has made a name for himself with his glove. But, he can flash his bat and speed on the bags.
