Thursday’s game between the Philadelphia Phillies and Washington Nationals will be postponed in the wake of the police shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha, Wisconsin according to Jim Salisbury of NBC Sports Philadelphia.
The Phillies will go to Nationals Park in DC for light work this afternoon, but will not play, according to Matt Gelb of the Athletic.
Manager Dave Martinez’s 2:30 PM Zoom conference with Washington reporters has been postponed, as the Nationals sort things out with the Phillies, according to Mark Zuckerman of MASN Sports.
Thursday’s series finale was slated to start at 6:37 pm. The Nationals will travel to Boston to play the Red Sox as part of a three-game series this weekend. The Phillies are scheduled to play the Braves in Atlanta this weekend.
The Nationals and Phillies are scheduled to reconvene in Philadelphia Monday, August 31 for the start of a four-game series.
