Reuben Foster’s comeback from a devastating knee injury will be put on hold for the time being. The Washington Football Team is placing the linebacker on injured reserve, according to John Keim of ESPN.
There was a lot of anticipation behind Foster coming back after tearing his ACL, MCL and LCL during an OTA practice in May 2019. He suffered nerve damage, causing a drop foot. Foster was determined to make it back this season.
Foster worked his way off the physically-unable-to-perform list early in training camp. Yet, he never quite got momentum in practices and seemed to fall behind in reps behind Shaun Dion Hamilton, Cole Holcomb and fifth-round pick Khaleke Hudson.
Despite being acquired in November 2018, Reuben Foster has yet to play a down for Washington.
Washington declined Foster’s fifth-year option for 2021 in May, leaving the possibility he could be done with the team.
