Chase Young expected to be out Week 4 vs. Ravens with groin strain

Washington Football Team rookie defensive end Chase Young is expected to be out for Week 4 against the Baltimore Ravens with a strained groin, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Young was injured in the second quarter of Week 3’s loss against the Cleveland Browns. He limped off the field to the locker room after pulling up on a play.

Young has been as good as advertised through the first three games of his NFL career. He has been a catalyst of Washington’s vaunted defensive line. He leads the team with 2.5 sacks. Washington is second in the NFL with 13 sacks.

Washington is already down their best interior pass rusher Matt Ioannidis, who was placed on injured reserve with a season-ending torn bicep. Not having Young on the field against the reigning MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson along with Ioannidis being out would be a huge blow for Washington.

Washington signed defensive end Nate Orchard from the practice squad earlier this week, which would help in the event Young is out in Week 4.
