What a difference a week makes for Maryland quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa. Last week he threw three interceptions in his Maryland debut at Northwestern. This week, he has turned the first quarter of Friday night’s Big Ten game between Maryland and Minnesota into the Taulia Tagovailoa Show.
Tagovailoa opened Maryland’s third drive of the game with a 76-yard touchdown pass to Jeshaun Jones to extend the Terrapins’ lead to 21-7.
The toss was Maryland’s third touchdown of the opening quarter. Tagovailoa accounted for all three. First he toss a short touchdown to running back Jake Funk. He then scrambled for a 39-yard touchdown. Then all it took was one play for his third touchdown.
Through the first quarter of his second start of the year, Tagovailoa is 7-of-8 passing for 145 yards and two touchdowns. He also added 64 yards and a touchdown.
