The 2021 recruiting class of the Maryland Terrapins took a huge hit Monday. Four-star defensive tackle Marcus Bradley of Quince Orchard High School (MD) has de-committed from Maryland. Bradley made the announcement Monday.
The 6-foot-3, 270-pound Bradley initially committed to Maryland in May. He was one of three top-20 defensive tackles to commit to head coach Mike Locksley and the Terrapins. However, nearly six months after picking Maryland he has changed his mind, reopening his recruiting over the style of the Terrapins’ 3-4 defense, according to 247 Sports.
Bradley is the No. 12-ranked defensive tackle in the nation. His de-commitment drops Maryland from the 19th ranked recruiting class in the nation to 26th. LSU, Tennessee and Ohio State were among the schools Bradley considered prior to picking Maryland.
Despite the loss of Bradley, Maryland still bolsters one of the best defensive line classes in school history. They also still have two of the best defensive tackle recruits in Taizse Johnson and Tommy Akingbesote. Both are four-star recruits.
Maryland also has Bradley’s high school teammate defensive end Demeioun Robinson. Robinson is the third-ranked weakside defensive end in the nation, according to 247 Sports.
