Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Zach Pascal thought he scored a go-ahead touchdown in the third quarter of Thursday night’s game against the Tennessee Titans. Thus, the Prince George’s County, Maryland native proceeded to show homage to his hometown area of the DMV — the nickname of the Washington DC Metro area, standing for DC, Maryland and Virginia — by doing the “Beat ya feet” dance that has become popular within DC’s go-go music scene.
Pascal “beat his feet” thinking he scored a touchdown. Alexandria, Virginia native and Colts teammate tight end Mo Allie-Cox joined in with his version of the dance as well. However, a replay review led to Pascal being ruled down just ahead of the goal line, taking away the touchdown. Nonetheless, Pascal was able to shed some light to his roots.
The Colts went on to beat the Titans 34-17.
Pascal grew up in Upper Marlboro, Maryland and starred at Henry A. Wise High School before playing college football at Old Dominion. He was a two-time second team All-Conference USA Team at Old Dominion.
After going undrafted in 2017, Pascal began his NFL career with the Washington Football Team but was cut after training camp. He landed with the Titans, spending most of the 2017 season on their practice squad. In 2018, he joined the Colts and has carved out a role at wide receiver, appearing in 41 games with 96 catches the last three seasons.
