Bryce Love’s return from IR in jeopardy after suffering setback

Bryce Love’s return from injured reserve may be in jeopardy after the Washington Football Team running back suffered a setback. Washington head coach Ron Rivera told the media Love experienced some soreness in his injured knee.

“We’re going to be careful and we’re going to hold him out for a little bit,” Rivera said per Nicki Jhabvala of the Washington Post.

Love was placed on injured reserve on Oct. 2 after having soreness in the same knee he suffered a torn ACL in December 2018 while playing at Stanford. He had returned to practice last week, as Washington activated the 21-day practice window.

However, he hasn’t practiced since last Thursday. Washington has 14 days to decide whether to activate him or leave him on IR for the remainder of the season.

Washington selected the 2017 Heisman Trophy runner-up in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft. Unfortunately, Love has yet to play in an NFL game. His injured knee has lingered and halted the start of his pro career. After essentially redshirting his rookie season, he is in jeopardy of missing a second straight season.
