The Washington Football Team is pulling out all the stops in their first-place battle against the Dallas Cowboys. Offensive coordinator Scott Turner dialed up a trick play that resulted in tight end Logan Thomas throwing a pass to wide receiver Terry McLaurin for a 28-yard completion.
Thomas is used to throwing the football despite being a tight end. He starred at Virginia Tech as a quarterback before being drafted in 2014 at the position by the Arizona Cardinals. After faltering as a QB, Thomas re-emerged with the Buffalo Bills in 2017. It’s a position he played in high school.
With the winner of Thursday’s game moving into first place of the woeful NFC East, the playbook is wide open for Washington.
