Former NFL wide receiver Chad Johnson is a huge fan of Terry McLaurin. For sometime, Johnson has expressed admiration for the Washington Football Team star receiver. On Friday, that admiration of McLaurin led to a very generous tip for a Jacksonville waiter.
Johnson had a $41.80 bill while attending Miller’s Ale House. He then left a $963 tip which he alluded to representing McLaurin’s receiving yards total thus far this season.
McLaurin leads the NFL with 963 receiving yards after adding 92 yards on seven catches in Washington’s 41-16 Thanksgiving win over the Dallas Cowboys.
Johnson is in Jacksonville to cover the Jaguars’ game against the Cleveland Browns Sunday for NFL Films.
McLaurin has only been in the league two seasons, yet, Johnson admires his work during his short NFL career. He once called the Washington wide out, “a more polished me.”
Johnson played 11 seasons in the NFL from 2001-2011, racking up 11,059 with 766 receptions and 67 touchdowns as a wide receiver. He was a two-time All-Pro and had seven 1,000-yard seasons and scored a touchdown in each season of his career.
McLaurin, a 2019 third-round draft pick, emerged as Washington’s No. 1 receiver even before he every played an NFL snap. Through 25 career games, he has 127 receptions for 1,882 yards and 10 touchdowns. His excellent on the field led to him recently being unanimously voted a captain by his teammates.
