Thomas Bryant has been punished for his actions during a scuffle with Detroit Pistons forward Blake Griffin. The Washington Wizards center was fined $45,000 by the NBA for repeatedly making inappropriate contact with an official, according to Shams Charania of the Athletic.
The incident started when Griffin threw Bryant to the floor in the third quarter of Thursday’s preseason game. A frustrated Bryant immediately jumped up, charged and shoved Griffin in the back. Griffin laughed off Bryant in response.
Bryant, meanwhile, repeatedly pushed off the official and teammate Moritz Wagner whom were trying to hold him back.
Griffin was assessed a flagrant-1 foul while Bryant received a technical.
Despite his frustration during the scuffle, Thomas Bryant downplayed the incident following the game saying there was “no bad blood” between he and Griffin. That’s a good thing because, both teams are set to play again Saturday to close out their preseason schedules.
