Wednesday’s men’s college basketball game between George Washington and Massachusetts has been postponed amid the riots on the grounds of the U.S. Capitol. Washington, DC’s mayor, Muriel Bowser, issued a city-wide curfew at 6pm, forcing officials to postpone the game.
A rally of supporters of President Donald Trump turned chaotic, leading to a mob storming through law enforcement and invading the Capitol halting the electoral vote. At least one person was shot according to multiple reports.
As for the game the Atlantic-10 will work to reschedule the conference game for a later date.
The next scheduled game for the GW Colonials (3-7, 2-1 in conference play) is Saturday at St. Bonaventure. UMass (2-3, 1-1) plays La Salle on Sunday in Amherst.
