Thomas Bryant set for MRI Sunday on injured knee

Thomas Bryant will undergo an MRI Sunday on his injured left knee, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. The Washington Wizards center hyper-extended his knee less than two minutes into Saturday’s game against the Miami Heat.

Bryant went down immediately holding his knee in pain. He was ultimately helped up by trainers before slowly walking off to the locker room. It appeared Bryant couldn’t put much weight on his leg. He was ruled out for the remainder of the game.

In his fourth year as a pro, Bryant entered the game averaging a career-high 15.9 points per game through nine games. He was shooting an efficient 64.8% from the field, including 42.9% from three — both also career highs.

Any length of absence could be a huge blow for the Wizards. Bryant has been planted as the lead big man who has developed his offensive game. Proven with his efficient shot-selection and extended range beyond the arc.
