The Washington Capitals announced the schedule for the team to wear the popular Reverse Retro ADIZERO Authentic adidas jersey. The Capitals will wear the jerseys in four home games this season.
They’ll debut on Feb. 9 against the Philadelphia Flyers. They will also wear the jerseys on Feb. 23 against the Pittsburgh Penguins, Mar. 9 against the New Jersey Devils and Mar. 16 versus the New York Islanders. All four dates are on Tuesdays.
The Reverse Retro jerseys reintroduce the Screaming Eagle design the Capitals originally debuted in 1995. Except the jerseys will be in the franchise’s iconic red, white and blue color scheme.
Washington used a blue, black and bronze color scheme from 1995-2007. Peter Bondra, Olie Kolzing and Calle Johansson were most associated with the look. The 1997-98 team reached the Stanley Cup Final in the jersey design.
The Capitals returned to the more accustomed red, white and blue scheme in 2007. Thus, the Reverse Retro design gets a fresh touch-up.
