Ron Rivera is now cancer-free! The Washington Football Team head coach had a perfect reaction to the great news.
Yes, indeed Rivera won his battle with squamous cell cancer. He also thanked everyone who was pulling for him in his battle.
“Thank you everyone for your prayers, letters, texts & notes of encouragement & support. It truly made a difference in my treatment & recovery!#RiveraStrong,” Rivera captioned on his post.
Rivera’s daughter, Courtney, was the first to reveal the news he was cancer-free following a checkup with doctors on Thursday.
Rivera announced in August he was diagnosed with cancer. He underwent seven weeks of treatment during the 2020 season. Despite struggles, he got through his first season as Washington’s coach without missing a game, leading the team to the NFC East division title and the playoffs.
